I am your craftsperson / artist in residence. I am a 20 year plus veteran teacher in the public schools, the University of Maine, and abroad. My teaching career has given me the opportunity to work with all age groups, from kindergarten through adults. I have taught crafts professionally in summer programs and after-school programs. My expertise comes from classes, working with other master craftspeople, and hours and hours of experience.
An appliqué square I created was part of a large quilt that was displayed in Beijing, China during the International Year of Women conference.
Pinthrift?
The first jewelry I made to sell was pins. When I was looking for a name for my business, my husband had been reading a book that used the term, “spindrift.” Spindrift is the spray blown from the surface of the sea by storm winds. Some how “spindrift” got turned into “Pinthrift” which seemed an apt name for my business venture.
